Description
The dryers of the DF series basically consist of two separate circuits:
One compressed air circuit split into two heat exchangers, and one refrigerating circuit. Incoming warm, humid compressed air passes over the air-air exchanger and then continues into the condenser, where on contact with the refrigerating circuit it is cooled to the pre-set dew point so that the humidity it contains condenses out. The condensate is separated and removed in the separator.
There are basically two advantages to this system: firstly, air entering the system goes through a pre-cooling stage so the refrigeration plant can be scaled down to provide a smaller temperature gradient, with energy savings of 40-50, and secondly cold air is not injected into the compressed air line, thus preventing condensation on the outside of the line's pipes.
