Description
Step 1: Identification Of Various Types Of Mushroom The fruit of a mushroom is a source of cultivation or propagation. The fruit is explained as the mushroom and macro fungi or better known as Basidiomycetes. It produces flushes by means of what is known as fruiting bodies which appear as large caps or cups depending on the species. This cups generally have gills or gill like structure on the inside of the fruiting bodies on which are developed large numbers of spores. These spores may be isolated and used to inoculate nutrient agar media from which vegetative or mycelia cells may developed. They may be used to prepare inoculation for mushroom cultivation or propagation.
Step 2: Mushroom Cultivation Mycelium is the starting point for subsequent spawn production. The mycelium is then taken to a very important step that is inoculation. Inoculation is cultivating mycelium in various bags of compost. This is done in a clean room to ensure the growth is achieved accordingly. The process of inoculation is a very sterile process as its basically reproducing the various fruit to produce in quantity. Inoculation is implanting microorganisms into a cultured medium or in this case prepared compost which is sterile by stim.
Step 3: Transplant The bags are then kept in a control environment for the best growth of the mycelium. Then the mycelium is spread on a bed of straw compost. This straw compost is specially prepared with the mixture of paddy straw, manure and calcium. This compost is the essential requirement for the development of the mushroom. The composition of compost consists of empty fruit bunch and even various manure and certain vitamins. This
Step 4: Harvesting After the mushroom cultured is prepared in spawn bottles, they are used to inoculate agricultural waste materials such as paddy straw or shredded palm empty fruit brunch sterilized in 1/2 Kg bags. The inoculated bags are kept on racks in the mushroom shed. The mycelium will grow through this bag in 3-4weeks. After this bags are fully grown, little pin heads will begin to appear. These bags have to be sprayed with water twice a day and the flushes or mushrooms will appear and grow to full size. These have to be harvested or picked twice a day and weighed. They have to be stored in the refrigerator until sold. These is an average of 4 flushes over a period of 2-3 weeks at weekly intervals when the harvest is complete per bag.
