District Cooling System & Thermal Energy Storage
District Cooling System (DCS) is an outsourced solution that provides cooling system to the built environments that are strategically located within the region of the district cooling. The centralized cooling production distributes cooling energy through underground insulated pipeline to buildings within a district and it runs 24 hours a day every day. Advantageously replacing conventional individual chillers in each building, the district cooling can help building owners reduce the electricity consumption through sharing of one DCS.
Thermal Energy Storage (TES) is introduced for strategic load management, which takes advantage of lower electricity tariff during off-peak hours, reducing cooling peak load and installed power. TES function is to balance energy demand between day time and night time; producing and storing cooling energy night time when electricity tariff is low and distributes the cooling energy day time to the buildings within the district.
