The dispersant effect of Rhein Chemie processing promoters is based on quicker and better dispersion of solids within the mixture and on the prevention of reagglomeration. At the same time, processing promoters can act as a lubricant for the compound, improving and speeding up subsequent processing. The main dispersing effect occurs in the mixing unit, while the lubricating effect predominates in the extruder.
"Zinc-free" dispersants and lubricants are especially kind on the environment. They are a combination of derivates of natural fatty acids and synthetic raw materials. Aflux® 37 (GE 1837) was specifically developed for compounds with a high proportion of silica based on solution styrene-butadiene, butadiene and natural rubber (L-SBR, BR, NR). It reduces the viscosity of compounds and improves filler dispersion without affecting the physical properties of the end product. Aflux® 18 (GE 1855) is the ideal processing promoter for the acrylate rubbers ACM and AEM because it reduces the stickiness/tackiness of these polymers on metal surfaces and has a positive effect on the scorching time.
