Coconut Shell Activated Carbon
- Release formGranules
Activated Carbon, made from charcoal of the hard-shell of the coconut has generally been proven to have superior adsorptive capability in liquid and gaseous phase application. This is due to the following inherent properties of the raw material:
|High Microporosity||High Density||Low Attrition Loss|
|Intrinsic Hardness||Low Ash Content||Longer Service Life|
The superior quality and low impurities of activated carbon made from coconut shell charcoal are not only the property of the raw material but more so of the quality and diligence of our conversion process which is by steam activation.
First, the raw coconut shell is carbonized to an intermediate product, i.e. coconut shell charcoal with pores still too small to be absorbent. Second, the charcoal is then fed into rotary kiln which reacts with steam at the temperature between 800° C to 1000° C to enlarge the pore structure to form activated carbon.
